West Bank violence

The violence comes as two cars were torched and a wall daubed with the Star of David and the words ‘Price Tag’ in a Palestinian village in the West Bank.

The phrase has become a slogan of militant Jewish settlers warning of revenge for any efforts to remove them from the occupied territory. Israeli police said they were investigating the incident.

Earlier this week, a West Bank mosque was vandalised in an attack that Palestinians have blamed on settlers.

Around half a million Jewish settlers live in the West Bank and Jerusalem, on land occupied by Israel during the 1967 war with its Arab neighbours.
