Deaths as bridge collapses in Dubai

Seven people killed and at least 15 hurt as bridge collapses during construction.

    Jamal al-Marri, deputy police chief, said: "Engineers are at the site and are inspecting the situation."

    Several workers were badly injured and rushed to a government hospital, a police officer at the site said.

    Most workers in the emirate, witnessing a massive construction boom, come from India.

    Two workers were killed and about 60 were injured in January when a fire broke out in a tower block under construction in the city.
