Palestinian killed in West Bank

Israeli soldiers kill man during a gunbattle with Palestinian fighters in Nablus.

Nablus is one of the largest Palestinian cities in the West Bank
The Israeli military however said that the man was armed and had fired on their troops.

"The soldiers spotted a gunman opening fire at them and shot at him, hitting him," an Israeli army spokeswoman said.
Israeli forces launched the raid before dawn and arrested six wanted men, Palestinian security sources said.

Nablus and the refugee camps nearby are known as a centre of armed opposition to Israel.
