Israel has killed five Palestinians in the West Bank since the ceasefire took hold in the Gaza Strip a week ago.

Under the November 26 truce, Palestinian armed factions said they would halt rocket fire if Israel stopped targeting Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

Israel ended a five-month offensive in Gaza after the ceasefire, but continues to patrol and conduct searches in the West Bank, citing security concerns.

The terms of the Gaza ceasefire do not extend to the West Bank.
