France's Alstom faces takeover bids

French president rejects $13.5bn bid for engineering giant, which is facing takeover attempts from two foreign firms.

    The French president has branded a $13.5bn bid from General Electric for Alstom, one of the country's largest engineering firms, as unacceptable and aims to find better offers.
