The marathon man with no team

Marathon runner Guor Marial will compete as an independent athlete while his country awaits IOC recognition.

Runners from Ethiopia and Kenya are expected to resume their rivalry in the men's marathon on Sunday when the last athletics event of London 2012 will take place.

But 28-year-old Guor Marial from South Sudan will compete as an independent Olympic athlete while he waits for his country to receive official International Olympic Committee recognition.

Marial, is just happy that he will be participating in the Olympics.
