Russia glamourises Gorky Park

Refurbishment comes as Moscow looks to create its own version of London’s Hyde Park.

Russia is putting millions of dollars into a radical overhaul of Moscow’s public spaces. Many of the capital’s once grand parks fell apart after the collapse of the Soviet Union and some have even developed unsavoury reputations but change is afoot.

And the money being spent is not trifling either; some $400 million has already been expended on Gorky Park this year alone.
