Europe reeling under cold spell

Severe cold weather conditions leave passengers stranded across Europe.

    Severe cold weather conditions across Europe have caused mass flight cancellations, leaving Christmas travellers stranded.

    Easyjet is the latest airline to ground planes, cancelling around 180 flights, while Ryaniar grounded another 65.

    Many airports have closed due to icy runways and heavy snow across the continent.

    Train services have also been affected, although the Eurostar rail service between Britain and France has resumed, after a three-day suspension.
