Prosecutors begin Karadzic trial

Former Bosnian Serb leader accused of ethnic cleansing campaign against Muslims.

Prosecutors in the trial of the former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic say he led a campaign of ethnic cleansing against Muslims during the 1992-95 conflict in Bosnia.

The war crimes trial at The Hague began on Tuesday without Karadzic in court, after he made good on his promise to boycott it.
