Jury convicts three men of plotting to kill thousands of people by blowing up planes.

    A court in London has convicted three men of plotting to murder thousands of people by blowing up seven transatlantic aeroplanes.

    The men were accused of planning to smuggle liquid explosives disguised as soft-drinks onboard the aircraft.

    Authorities say that the accused were just days away from carrying out their plan before being arrested in August 2006.
