Video: Baltic Way 20th anniversary

Event commemorates action in 1989 that saw two million people form a human chain in protest against Soviet occupation.

Two decades ago, two million Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians joined hands to form a nearly unbroken 650 km-long human chain.

It was a symbolic event to protest at their occupation by Soviet Russia.

Celebrations to mark the anniversary have been going on in Vilnius, Tallin and Riga, Latvia's capital, from where Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull reports.
