    'Another Rwanda'

A protest organiser warned that if immediate action was not taken, Sri Lanka could turn into "another Rwanda or worse".

"In a couple of months' time, we might be debating in the same sphere, saying that 'we should have stopped a genocide in Sri Lanka'. But that might be too late," Ambi Seevaratnam told the Associated Press.

In France, hundreds of protesters blocked an intersection in central Paris on Monday and police said they made some 60 arrests as groups of demonstrators threw projectiles at buses and at police.
