Large numbers of Europe’s population of 10 to 12 million Roma live in central or eastern Europe on the margins of society.

For many of Europe’s ‘untouchables’, poverty, persecution and discrimination are part of daily life.

Since 1999, the Roma population in Kosovo has fallen sharply after ongoing attacks on its community.
