A convoy escorting Alu Alkhanov, Chechnya's president, is struck by a drunk driver.

    Last November, Chechnya's then-prime minister, Sergei Abramov, was seriously injured when a lorry collided with his car outside Moscow.


    Officials insisted the incident was a traffic accident.
