Import fears for Indian farmers
Locals risk losing livelihoods as rich nations eye markets in developing countries.

India has released figures showing its economy grew at its fastest pace in more than a year last quarter.
But while the growth eclipsed forecasts, many of India’s farmers and small businesses are struggling to get by. As rich nations seek greater access to developing economies, locals are losing markets and their livelihoods.
They’re calling on the World Trade Organisation to help as a conference gets under way in Geneva, Switlzerland.
