Blast hits Pakistan tribal meeting

Many casualties feared in suspected suicide bombing in northwest Pakistan.

    'State of war'

Kamal Hyder, Al Jazeera's correspondent in the capital Islamabad, said: "People will tell you that Pakistan is already in a state of war. Every day there are suicide bombings. The violence is escalating at a time that the national assembly is not able to come to grips with the situation."

Orakzai, which does not share a border with Afghanistan, has been relatively peaceful compared to the other tribal regions.
