China's influence remains strong in Macau

Macau's attempts at starting protests related to those in Hong Kong have failed and ensured its dependency on China.

    Macau views Beijing as too powerful to pick a fight with, therefore chose to remain focused on its internal economical and social issues.

    For a place like Macau, getting involved in politics means threatening the economic support it receives from China.
