Liu Xiaobo's wife detained

Nobel Peace prize winner's wife placed under house arrest after visiting her husband in jail.

The wife of Liu Xiaobo, the Chinese activist who won this year's Nobel Peace Prize, has expressed her desire to travel to Norway to collect the award on behalf of her jailed husband.

But that looks unlikely as she has been placed under house arrest where she is watched 24 hours a day by the police.

    Al Jazeera Tony Birtley reports.
