Brazil criticises US over Iran

President Lula says US is taking hardline approach towards Tehran's nuclear programme.



    Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, the Brazilian president, has criticised the United States for its hardline approach to Iran's nuclear programmes.

    He says Iran has shown willingness to negotiate its stance and other countries must do the same.

    The US wants new and tougher sanctions against Iran, despite Tehran saying it will swap low-enriched uranium for nuclear fuel.
