Transfer for Guantanamo detainees

US to transfer nearly 100 prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to jail in Illinois.

    The Obama administration has said it will transfer nearly 100 prisoners from the detention centre at Guantanamo Bay to a prison in the US state of Illinois.

    In addition to holding detainees, the prison near Chicago, will be the site of military trials. 

    The Obama administration says it will be the safest prison in the United States.
