US army veterans feel mental strain

Suicide rate among US veterans overtakes the national rate.

    The United States is the largest contributor of troops to the war in Afghanistan, with nearly 70,000 soldiers deployed there.

    After eight years of war in Afghanistan and Iraq, US veterans are dealing with years of psychological trauma - the effects of which can literally be deadly.
