World leaders are to gather in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

    Afghanistan is just one of the issues on the agenda as world leaders gather in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

    Iran's nuclear programme, climate change and food security will also be discussed this week.

    Hopes are high that considerable progress will be made as Barack Obama becomes the first US president to chair the security council - the UN's top decision-making body.
