Sudan secession campaign under way

As the south prepares for referendum, some are already marching for independence.



    A referendum on the future of the semi-autonomous southern Sudan region is due be held early next year, and leaders from north and south are holding talks on how a possible split would be managed.

    Oil revenues and security issues have been taking centre stage in the discussions between the ruling National Congress Party and the Southern Sudan People's Liberation Movement.

    Campaign for secession is well under way, with some in southern Sudan readying for statehood and marching for independence.
