Philippines surge: Restrictions reimposed in Manila

They are also set to reinstate stricter curbs if a rise in new cases and deaths does not slow down.

The country has recorded Southeast Asia’s biggest daily jump in coronavirus deaths this week, putting hospitals under strain.
