South Africa: Gangs refuse to hand in firearms despite amnesty

Allegations of police corruption are rife, with some officers accused of selling confiscated guns to criminals.

South Africa has one of the highest crime rates in the world, much of it due to illegal firearms.

Now the government is offering an amnesty but many are sceptical that this will make the country any safer.
