Syria war: UN warning of ‘humanitarian catastrophe’

US, France and the UK call emergency talks to urge Syria to stop air, ground attacks in Idlib as displaced flee.

The United Nations Security Council has met to discuss the situation in Idlib in northwest Syria as Syrian forces, backed by Russia, attack the last rebel-held stronghold.

Hundreds of thousands of Syrians are fleeing towards the Turkish border and the UN has called for a stop in the attacks to give aid to the injured.
