What does it take to impeach a United States president? What does it take to remove a US president from office?

US President Donald Trump became only the third president in United States history to be impeached last month when the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives approved two articles of impeachment related to Trump’s dealings with Ukraine: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. 

The matter is now set to move to the Republican-controlled Senate, where Trump is likely to be acquitted.
