Germany to mark 30 years since fall of Berlin Wall

Its fall on November 9, 1989, reunited city’s East and West, and helped bridge its ideological and political divides.

On November 9, Germany marks 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

For generations, it stood as a concrete symbol of the ideological divide that spanned Europe.

Made up of two walls with the heavily patrolled “Death Strip” between them, the Berlin Wall tore friends and families apart.
