Australia launches formal probe into Chinese spy claims

Australian authorities have launched a formal investigation into claims Chinese intelligence services attempted to plant a spy in federal government.

    China has accused Australia of reaching a state of hysteria over allegations Beijing tried to plant a spy in its federal parliament.

    A formal investigation has been launched in Australia.
