    Brazil is in the middle of an environmental emergency, with crude oil washing up on once-spotless beaches along the northeast coast.

    Authorities have launched an enormous clean-up campaign but since the source of the spill cannot yet be found, recovery efforts are painstaking and slow.

    Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports from the northeast State of Alagoas.
