The woodlands of Mexico City's Chapultepec Park have received the International Large Urban Parks Gold Award.

The World Urban Parks Association named this park the "Best Urban Forest in the World". The award considers factors such as historic, cultural, and environmental significance. For a city notorious for air pollution, Chapultepec Park is perhaps the capital’s most valuable space.

Al Jazeera's Manuel Rapalo reports from Mexico City.
