Italy's Prime Minister says six EU nations are willing to take in some of the 147 migrants stranded on a boat off Lampedusa.

The boat was barred from docking but several people were brought to shore by the Italian coastguard for urgent medical attention.

This followed a court ruling which said emergency support must be provided to the migrants on board the vessel.

    Al Jazeera's Sonia Gallego reports.
