Brazil tops list of countries with highest deforestation rate

    Brazil is at the top of a list of countries with the world’s highest rate of deforestation.

    Critics say that is because rules have not been enforced and cut-and-burn practices have gone unregulated.

    The fires in the Amazon shows the extent of the damage.

    Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports from the state of Mato Grosso, one of the hardest-hit areas.
