State funeral for Bangladesh's former President Ershad

Thousands of Bangladeshis have attended former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad's funeral in Dhaka.

    A state funeral has been held in Bangladesh for former President Muhammad Ershad.

    The former general played a major role in politics for decades - leading the country for eight years after seizing power in a bloodless coup in 1982.

    He died last Sunday at the age of 89 and leaves behind a mixed legacy.
