Kyrgyzstan’s ex-president barricades himself in at home

Atambaev has been summoned several times to respond to questioning but has barricaded himself in his home instead.

The former president of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambayev is refusing to obey yet another government subpoena demanding he answer questions over alleged corruption during his time in office.

Atambayev was summoned to the interior ministry on Friday but did not appear.

Instead, he has barricaded himself and supporters in his home outside the capital.
