From Ivory Coast to France, refugee tells story in music

Performances at Avignon theatre festival focus on how conflict, violence and poverty force people to leave their homes.

A refugee who fled violence in his native Ivory Coast and made his way to France is performing a play about his experiences at the Avignon Theatre Festival.

The performances on the subject of refugees in Avignon are all different but there’s a common purpose – to tell stories of individuals and the force of human resilience in the face of unimaginable adversity.
