West African leaders are looking for solutions to the rise of armed groups.

    The rise of armed groups in West Africa will be high on the agenda when leaders begin a regional summit in Nigeria's capital this weekend.

    Mali has seen a surge in violence this year, with more than 160 thousand people displaced by ethnic fighting.

    The turmoil is putting pressure on the UN mission there,
