Venice Biennale 2019: 'May you live in interesting times'

While 'A World in Crisis' is a reoccurring theme at this Biennale, there is still space for art that serves to inspires joy with colour and playfulness.

    The world's oldest and most celebrated art event opened in Italy on Saturday.

    The Venice Biennale is an opportunity for countries to flaunt their artistic talents and for some 80 artists to respond to a theme.

    This year's theme is "May you live in interesting times".
