US steps up sanctions on Iran

Al Jazeera looks at Saudi Arabia’s influence on US foreign policy as the Trump administration tightens its Iran sanctions.

The United States is tightening its sanctions grip on Iran.

The Trump administration had allowed eight countries to continue buying Iranian oil but those exemptions are now being scrapped.

The latest move has been made in coordination with Iran’s regional archrival, Saudi Arabia.
