Rwanda genocide 25th anniversary: Generation born of rape

The stigma of rape in Africa is profound and being fathered by a Hutu rapist is considered worse.

    Rape is often used as a weapon of war during conflicts.

    When Rwanda's 1994 genocide happened, the scale of the crime was unimaginable. The United Nations estimates that between 250,000 and 500,000 Tutsi women were raped.

    And those born as a result is one of the most under-reported aspects of the genocide.

    Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons visited one woman who wanted to speak, for the first time, about her suffering.
