Rescuers race to find survivors after the second earthquake hits the island nation.

    A second magnitude 6.5 earthquake has hit the province of Eastern Samar in the Philippines.

    That's after the first earthquake struck the main island of Luzon, home to the capital Manila, on Monday.

    Terrified residents ran out of buildings in the regional capital Tacloban.

    Al Jazeera's Paul Brennan reports.
