Libya fighting: Tunisians fear more deaths on coast

As the Libya conflict intensifies, Tunisia faces challenges dealing with an increasing number of displaced migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean and ending up on its shores.

Tunisians are concerned that fighting in neighbouring Libya will lead to more people trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea by boat and many migrants may end up on Tunisia’s shores instead.

Nearly 400 people have drowned trying to cross the Mediterranean so far this year. Human bodies and limbs often wash up on Tunisian beaches.
