For almost three weeks, heavy rain and flash floods have battered most of Iran’s 31 provinces. Aid workers are struggling to reach at least 350 villages that are completely cut off.

The government says US sanctions are impeding aid efforts, while Washington accuses the government in Tehran of failing to manage its emergency response.
