US government shutdown sends ripples across the country

Longest shutdown in US history does not appear to have solution in sight, as thousands will miss their second paycheque.

    The partial government shutdown in the United States has entered its 30th day and in a few more, thousands of American workers will miss their second paycheque.

    President Donald Trump attacked Democrats for rejecting his proposal to end the shutdown and provide funding for his border wall.

    But the Democrats say his plan is not a compromise, and it was not offered in good faith.

    Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane has the latest from Washington.
