Democrats retake House of Representatives in US Congress

Amid partial US government shutdown, Democrats are retaking control of House of Representatives.

    The US Congress starts its new two-year session on Thursday.

    While the Republicans have retained control of the Senate, Democrats have retaken control of the House of Representatives, in part because of a surge in younger and more diverse candidates.
