Lake Atitlan artwork gives Guatemala tourism a boost

An ambitious painting project on a lakeside town in Guatemala is attracting tourists from around the globe.

The turquoise waters of Guatemala‘s Lake Atitlan draw tourists from around the globe.

But residents of one lakeshore town, Santa Catarina Palopo, are hoping to draw more visitors through a project inspired by the work of Haas & Hahn.

The Dutch artists are known for helping transform a Rio de Janeiro favela by painting it with vibrant colours.
