As Yemen famine looms, UN peace talks delayed

Despite a renewed push from the United States, the UN-sponsored peace talks to end the Yemen war are being pushed back until the end of the year, while fighting intensifies around Hodeidah.

United Nations-brokered talks in Sweden between the warring sides in Yemen have been postponed until the end of the year.

Fighting between Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition has become worse around the port city of Hodeidah and neither side has shown any sign of compromise.

The UN is warning Yemen is just three months away from a devastating famine that could affect 14 million people.
