Tanzanian government to buy cashew crops to end price dispute

The president has sacked some politicians for failing to deal with the nut price crisis between farmers and middlemen.

The government of Tanzania will have 200,000 tonnes of cashew nuts on their hands.

The government plans to buy the entire crop to end a price dispute between farmers and traders.

The army has been brought in as processing workers are sent home.
