Madagascar election: Women struggle for place in politics

Out of 36 candidates vying for president’s office in Madagascar, only five are women.


    People in Madagascar are preparing to go to the polls on Wednesday to choose their next leader.

    Women have little representation in the island's government. There has been some progress ahead of the vote, but many say it is not enough.
