Italy on collision course with European Union over budget crisis

The European Commission wants Italy to revise its budget - seen as an unprecedented move with regard to an EU member.

    Italy looks set to defy the European Union after its budget for the next year was rejected by the European Commission.

    But the conflict could be playing into the hands of Italy's Eurosceptic leaders.
